Unfortunately, my first time was not so pleasant. I didn't want to do it, but I was made to feel guilty that I didn't want to and I was basically emotionally coerced into doing it. Thanks for stressing the importance of talking about it with your partner before doing things. I know that my bad first time still impacts me today and has left me a bit sex-repulsed. I've had the majority of my mu for more than 2 years. Around 2008-2009 (my late twenties) I discovered makeup and similarly to you I was seriously overspending (thankfully without going into debt), not properly seeing the damage it was doing to my financial health. To be fair, a lot of the stuff I got were gifts, but I was also feeling the pressure to reciprocate so I was spending on other people rather than on me (if that makes sense?). I culled my spending on all fronts in the last couple of years and I feel great about it. I hardly ever buy mu and when I do, it is after the item being on my wishlist for a month or so. I've been working from home for the last few years and I've been wearing less and less makeup too. My collection remains to be very sentimental to me, it is at the same time a proof of my irresponsible behaviour. Decluttered but still too big for my current needs. And old but still in usable/good condition.
