Part 2 is sooo legit, and the wides of condos and strip malls were super on-point. condos and malls, endlessly the same, the layers of distance, the cell phones, the masks. all fons, masks, segregated eyelines. The delivery of I love your mask in the beginning, so revealing. The creepy slaughterhouse vibes of a crosswalk. The modern firstworld mental illness of casinos. The amerindian images on the slot machines calling back to the nature graffiti. The critique of infantilizing superhero simplicity. The aesthetic portrayal of banal grocery store and grocery store music reality. The aesthetic acceptance of vertical smartfon footage, traffic cameras, not getting lost in snootiness of highbrow, highproduction value whatevers, but more interested on intent. The godard image book and weekend vibes. the willingness to hold a shot like ozu or aki kaurismaki. the flaneur pov. the acceptance of average and below average looking people. the acknowledgement of totalitarianism today.
