Debbie definitely needs to sort out the residency issues before adopting a cat. They need to feel safe and her status isn't safe yet. She would love maybe working with the animals as a volunteer. She probably can't legally work in Canada but maybe get involved in rescue work. That could be very rewarding for her and help quell that part of her that needs to nurture someone. I actually feel bad for Colt. He loves his mother but there's ao much we don't know. I think that big fight they had he was also seeing his mother drunk and that cam be very upsetting as an adult to see your parents that uncontrolled. I think, although he's got more to do, he's come a long way and knows what he doesn't want but because he's still vulnerable and has that only-child syndrome and a very hurt person he's disturbed seeing how unsteady his mother is. You want to see your parents have their shit together and when they don't and you are going through a growing moment yourself it can cause a lot of anger and frustration. I wish them both the best.
