I really urge you to please just make a point that we have nothing to do with lesbians. The only connection some trans men (like myself) have with lesbians is that as 'tomboys' (and I just thought being a tomboy meant I was a boy who was accidently born in the wrong body as a child) we are often labelled as/expected to grow up and be lesbians, and some do, but some of us identify for a short time as lesbians, because it's the only label that seems to fit. Straight trans men (those who like girls) often fall into this category. For me the lesbian label never fit. I dressed like one, sure (in high school while at school I was forced to wear a dress until I started sneakily wearing the sport uniform every day, casually I wore the 'heavy metal' uniform of black skinny jeans, a band t shirt, and having long hair was gender neutral in that subculture, as was the clothing. It meant I stopped being bullied for starting high school 'looking like a boy' cause well, I was one. Just a different kind of one, and I could be comfortable in how I dressed cause the cisgender boys dressed like that too) but I was attracted primarily to other guys. It was super confusing to me. It felt like I wanted to be them more often than wanted to have sex with them.
