I really notice this effect when I attend LARP events where we would live like people from the Middle Ages for several days. I would turn off my phone entirely, not even look at the time etc. So we would tend to the fire, cook stew in a cauldron, talk to people, knit and sew, wander around etc all day long. One night at such an event a friend told me that the priestess was going to stop by our camp to tell some stories by the fire. I was ridiculously excited and couldn't wait.
