I've seen the depths of damage pornography has caused in my life and my children's life . My ex husband was addicted to porn since a very very young age . He found it in his step father's drawer . Then by age 18 his mother introduced him to drugs . Drugs and porn created a warped mind in him . By the time I met him years later he was an ex drug addict and clean . I didn't understand the damage it can do . Even though my mindset was against porn I allowed it in our relationship. Doctors etc were hyping the fact that porn is meant to be healthy in relationships. I was sexually abused at the age of five onwards and was shown porn magazines to copy what they were doing by my abuser. So for me it was always uncomfortable . I felt the women in them were being exploited and became anti porn . It just bought up so much triggers for me . I struggled . Then I lost a baby with him and became a Christian. I then started cleaning my life from this . He gave his life to Christ to and when he tried to clean his life from porn he encountered a huge problem . That's when he realized he was addicted to porn . He had been given a book by Neil Anderson called steps to freedom in Christ . He wasn't a big fan of reading so I started reading it . In there he spoke about addictions and porn was one of the addictions . How spiritually this effects us . A year after we gave our life to Christ we got married and I wanted to bring our life under God's control . That's when he encountered problems . Five months into our marriage , I started dreaming that he was abusing my daughter from a previous marriage . We had a great relationship and being open and honest was part of our life together . He told me he would never do anything like that to me because I was abused . He would feel the need to confess his thought life . So I'd have to listen and not be angry or upset with this . I was grateful he wanted nothing to come between us . My concerns grew when in his thought life the girls he was fantasizing about were getting younger and younger . Girls my children would have as friends . I would voice my concerns about this and he would get violent with me about it . Eventually he confessed that yes for the past 18 months he had sexually abused my daughter . She was 5 when he started abusing her . When he gave his statement to police he told them he hid porn in bushes so he could get his fix on way to work and back . That during his drug days he had been into some hardcore porn . That he only realized he was addicted till he wanted to be rid of it . I've researched since then alot of case studies etc about the harm pornography causes . The brain is affected in a huge way especially if your very young when your first subjected to porn . I'm not saying that everyone will become sex offenders . It's being aware of the most serious effects of being exposed to porn . Other than Neil Anderson and Derek Prince your now the third Christian bringing forth the truth about these issues .
