Tldr, I currently study at design academy. One of my professors is a gay man, and he is quit open about it in his classes. He is also somehow the embodiment of the class clown spirit, so naturally he loves to crack jokes and have big laughs with the class during his lessons. Being a gay man, my professor often makes gay jokes cause, well, he is gay and he feels like it's his right to do so. As a humorous guy, he always expects his students to laugh with him, and have fun time cracking jokes and laugh at each other expenses. And yet, one thing he had noted over the years is that with each new class, his students tend to laugh less and less with him, more so on his own gay jokes. Being his long time student, I have to say that my professor is a genuinely (in my opinion) funny guy, and he does make really good jokes. Thus, my professor started to suspect that his students are becoming more and more PC, and being so PC they just get uncomfortable laughing at gay jokes and gay people. It got to a point that my professor has to keep clarify that he is gay, and it's okay for people to laugh with him on his gay jokes as he is the one making them. Moreover, my professor tend to say that he is the only one in class who is allowed to make gay jokes, cause 'only' gays can make gay humor. That is NOT saying that no one else can make gay jokes in class, more so jokes that are targeted at the professor, but it's more that the students are so PC and afraid to offend an openly LGBT person that they don't allow themselves to hurt him, otherwise they would be found to be homophobic and shit like that. This all deeply upset my professor, as he actually loves to be homophobic and insensitive toward himself and other LGBT people, as he feels it his way of owning him being gay.
