A little bit of history about Midland Texas. I'm from here been here for 40 years thereabouts. People come here to Midland Texas drive through just to see what it's like and they come in the dark and make fun of people because they're driving pickup trucks. Well that's the way it is in Midland Texas because yeah they are work trucks mostly. Yes Midland is a boomtown and it has been since the '60s. The latest boom within the last 10 to 12 years is the result of what you see now with all the businesses all the new motels and all the new apartment complexes construction everywhere. And most of that is from the last five to seven years since 2015. A lot of these so-called self-righteous jerks that you talk about or not from Midland they are from other areas around the United States. People hear that there's a lot of money being made in Midland or Odessa and they think they can get a lot of that money. But it turns out they don't get it when they end up getting stuck here or end up being poor with the promise of $2,000 a week paychecks. The only way you're going to get that kind of money in this town is if you have a specialty job and you're doing a per diem per day contract. Unless it's in your contract to make that kind of money for housing or for vehicle maintenance or vehicle or any such thing along that line you're not going to make that kind of money. I've worked at the 80 hours a week in the highest check I've ever gotten was $800. I'm sorry but it's not going to happen. Whoever told you this or whoever it tells you this they don't know what they're talking about. So I would do some real hard thinking and some good research before coming over here and making fun of the town and talking about everybody driving a pickup truck which they don't by the way. Before you come here and and do all this mess that you're talking about. Cuz you full of crap for one thing. And another thing is not true. Oh and yes I've worked in the oil field doing 80 hours a week with only $800 paychecks. Get your facts straight get real and know what's going on before you start commenting. Have a nice day!
