I'm a recovering junkie, heroin addict. this video and song is awesome! it definitely shines light on the issue at hand. Many think that this epidemic started when the prisons came to town, wrong. Heroin has been a issue for over twenty years around here, people just turned a blind eye to it because it wasn't affecting their family, people thought it was only homeless, poor, uneducated people that used heroin. now that it affects almost every single family people are realizing that there's a problem, because their son, daughter, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, parents etc may have a problem now. I'm a recovering addict and I can tell you that it's not just a poor persons problem, I've encountered every type of humans out in the drug world. from lawyers to judges, poor and rich, young and old, black and white, policeman and nurses and doctors all who use. there needs to be rehabs around here for people to be able to go to and get help, there just isn't enough resources around for addicts. plus the stigma around addiction don't help anything, people are scared and embarrassed to let it be known that they or their family members have a drug addiction because they might get their reputations as perfect religious families destroyed, people are ignorant and look down on addicts. like us addicts don't feel like pieces of shit enough. smh. we don't need help feeling like losers, disgraces, pieces of shit, worthless and hopeless, we do a fine job at that on our own, we need help feeling better about ourselves, help feeling like there is a light at the end of the seemingly never ending tunnel of dark hell, help battling the demons and depression! sorry for going on and on, I could go on for days because I've been there I've lived that life I know how horrible it is.
