I think Nahyuta's character works better if you don't see him as putting up any kind of front in his interactions with others. He's not faking his antagonism because of the blackmail (the blackmail is still partly relevant to some of his behavior, but it's not the whole cause), he's genuinely resigned to the way things should be, and that there's no point in fighting the status quo like his father did. Or, in his words, let it go and move on. Which is ironically a paradoxical statement for him, because it's a creed he both does and doesn't practice. Unlike Edgeworth, he refuses to reflect on any of his defeats, if anything he retreats further into his beliefs, becoming angrier and more ruthless in his tactics with each subsequent case.
