I know a lot of people get caught up on scope of the game or how long/slow development is but frankly I don't care. I do care if the dev has a bad reputation for abandoning games or making really poor quality ones but scope and length? I have no problem waiting patiently for something good to come out and I don't freak out like a lot of people do about devs being overambitious or being slow and having delays. I'll play an early build, get a feel for the potential a game has, then move on to one of the many other games out there to try while waiting for significant development. Some people feel scammed when a project they helped fund falls through but to me that's the complete wrong way to look at crowd funding. You got what you paid for when you subscribed. You got to enjoy an early build with whatever other benefits come with being a backer, but there was never any guarantee any game would be completed no matter the funding or length, it's no different from AAA games either. I'm sad certain projects have died but happy to have experienced them along the way, plus if it was a good one it's only a matter of time till other devs try their hand to make their own version of it.
