I started transitioning this year at 18 years old, and while I am glad I have the time to transition now, I knew I was trans 4 years prior. Since there were so many gate keeping problems, I was unable to access puberty blockers or hormones. I have pretty much finished puberty at this point, and as such have adopted many of the stereo typical masculine characteristics. And that brings me to the point that I will never really pass that well. And like Kat mentioned, I am going to end up being ostracized as 'one of those trans people who does not try.' All I have to say is what the fuck. People push so hard to stop young people form transitioning, and at the same time these same people get weird out by trans people 'not passing'. I don't know if it occurred to most cis people, but not all of us have fucking $50,000 to drop on body sculpting, bottom surgery, FFS, vocal feminization surgery and god damn breast implants. I am a college student and already am accruing debt, if I was to get all of this shit I would be fucked over financially for the rest of my life. So next time you think about someone not passing passing go do something useful like donating to someones go fund me page because honestly, if you give a damn about people passing, least you can do is make it possible for us to pass instead of expecting the impossible form us.
