The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Marriage, and specifically even sex, is about dying to self and loving and serving the other person and serving God. Masturbation is ultimately about self-fulfillment and comfort/pleasure apart from another person, and it seems to me that sexual satisfaction is meant to be thoroughly enjoyed and a gift given to another person in the covenant of marriage, and to stop short of that seems to be defeating that point...
