For an independent and highly sentient and extremely intelligent droid it could be considered slavery to them, like IG-88, but simple droids like Gonks, Medical Droids, and even Battle Droids would not exactly be considered slaves. The reason? Programming. They were designed, built, and programmed for a purpose, a purpose they will carry out with or without restraining bolts. The restraining bolts would be used on experienced and highly intelligent droids to utilize the skills they've learned while keeping them in order. Memory wipes can help maintain control over a droid but you end up losing the knowledge and experience they have. Like having a household maid droid, you show it all the best ways to clean the house and it begins to learn new technique to become more efficient, but then it starts getting out of line and you do a memory wipe, you have to go back to square 1 again and this can get annoying after multiple resets. During times of war a droids mind was regularly reset to prevent the enemy from learning anything if captured, just look at R2 in the Clones Wars when he was captured by Grievous. Obi-wan brushed off the capture as nothing important until he is told that the droid's memory was never wiped.

However, the file is protected with DRM and can not be opened in any other program. Adobe Digital has no print function, and since you can't open the file with anything else it can't be printed. So you end up spending your money for books that are mostly useless, unless you want to put a tablet on your keyboard and view 1 page at a time.
