I love how passionate Dr. Ramani is. It is very true, it should be every adults responsibility to ensure children are safeguarded. However a lot of adults go into denial, especially when the perpetrators are people they know/are related to them (which studies show a majority of them are). I know this first hand and it is very damaging. It can make you spend a lot of your life feeling unsafe/abandoned. Even when people make you aware they won't hurt you. It's very hard to believe when your trust has been broken at such a young age. Abuse really can change and shape the way you see the world. I agree the penalty isn't high enough for this crime. If only those monsters could go through the aftermath of abuse themselves each day. It's soul destroying.

I can't believe a word of it. I live in West Sussex but I know for a fact if I went up to Liverpool that the people up there are decent, funny and friendly.
