Fun fact: The director of this movie is Joel Crawford. He's a veteran at DreamWorks, having worked on the Kung Fu panda trilogy as a lead animator, and this is his second directing debut; the first being Croods 2, which I heard was very good. He's two for two with this movie and I'm really happy. Puss N Boots the Last Wish is in my top five movies last year. It was shockingly good, and I took this to see with my nieces and nephews because they wanted to see a movie, and I didn't want to sit for three hours in Avatar 2, and boy I'm glad I did. It's amazing how competent this movie is from a writing perspective. Characters that actually feel real in they have easy-to-understand motivations and aren't idiots. Plus, the Macguffin plot is utilized well here(this film is gorgeously animated). The villains in this movie were great. The wolf might be one of my new favorite DreamWorks villains.

Pata Seca was a victim regardless of being treated better than the field slave. He wasn't free physically, spiritually, nor mentally. All his living was to please his oppressor. He was nothing but an animal to him.
